I have a hedgie named Beatrix. She is named for the author
Beatrix Potter, who wrote the famous children's stories
about animals, incl. one about a hedgehog. Also, "Bea" is
appropriate as her spines sting like a bee!

The name of my Hedgehog is Harley. She has that name, because of my preoccupation with Harley's. (besides, Sonic is a stupid name for a girl)

Our Hedgie's name is Archie and we have had him for a little over a year.

My hedgehogs names are Cesille (a year old female) and Shamrock Sean (a 5-6 month old male).

Our Hedgie is named Milton Thistle 2.0 (because of a previouse Milton Thistle passing we named this one in hopes of a similar demeanor and likeability!) A sweet hog with bright red eyes he is almost batlike in his albino colors! Stamparoni (owner of Milton T. 2.0)

We named our hedgie Emma, but during the day, we obviously have no Emma
around,
so my husband nicknamed the sleeping Emma (under her blanket) - "Emma-Lump" :)

I have 3 hedgies, and 5 babies. The mommy hedgie's name is Pixie, and so
I started referring to her and her babies as "The Pixies" after the
band, the "Pixies". However,
Mommy Pixie got her name because pixies were thought to turn into
hedgehogs. It seemed appropriate.
My other female's name is Pandora,
because "Pandora" means
all-gifted. And finally, my male's name is Grommit, cuz I really like
the show, "Wallace
& Grommit."

My hedgehog's first name was PoinDexter - a pun on Point. Then on the
hedgehog mailing list, I ran across the name Huffenfeffer. Dex
practices often to keep his huffing skills sharp :-) so he is now
PoinDexter Huffenfeffer.

We have two hedgies. One was named for a nursery rhyme about 'a hedgehog in a bramblebush'. We call him 'Brambles'. The other is Hokus Pokus, because 'now you see him, now you don't!' He's nicknamed 'Pokey', because he is a 'Poker-nose' because he pokes his nose
into everything *smile*.

My roommate bought me my hedgehog and named it spike - which I thought
was boring, so he has several nicknames: The Wee Beastie, The Bush
Baby, and The Pokey Little Puppy are some of my favorites, not to
mention the classy, but hard to pronounce Hawaiian word for hedgehog-
Pua'a'okalakala!

Well my first Hegdie is called Gabrielle (Gaby for short) because I really
like the show Xena. We already had a bird called Xena, so I called her
Gabrielle. Then Gaby had a baby girl which I called Costello, just because
the name sounds cool. :o)

I have a two year old I named Rosebud because she is as precious as a rosebud and just as sharp. I also have acquired a six month old which I am calling Grouchy for now, but I may change it later. She is quite unsocialized.

Chibi (09/14/98)
I have a male hedgehog named Chibi that is Pixie and Grommit's kid. (From the submission above).
Chibi in Japanese means 'little one'. Since he was referred to as the little one before he had a name, that's what we named him. On a more cultural day, we call him Chibito. I guess that would mean 'little little one' in Japanese-Spanish.

My hedgehog's name is Rosie cuz my mom wanted a cute name for the hedgehog and roses are cute and they also have little pokey things, so the name fit.

I have Snuffles {for the obvious reason... he snuffles around... which is what hedgehogs do best}, Rachelle, and Mahalia. Mahalia is new to us... she was dying of obesity, our local pet store knew that I was the
only one who could bring her back, so I have her now. If you know of Mahalia Jackson.... that is my girl's name sake.... :0)

I obtained my
hedgehog about 3 months ago and things have been going, for the most part, very well. The previous owners didn't really have much time to care for the hedgie so they gave it to me. It's name is Pooh. I was a little skeptical having a hedgehog named Pooh, but I soon found out why that is its name. Every time she goes out for a run in her ball, she "poo's" everywhere. What a mess! It isn't that bad, but it is a perfect name.

My husband and I named our girl hedgie Rose and then when we got our boy we
named him Thorn, both for obvious reasons.

I have 1 male, Spike and 1
female, Rooty. They just had 3 babies: 1 female named Prickles and 2 boys, unnamed as of yet. They are just 5 weeks old and they are just great!

My Hedgie is named Mr. Tiggy-Winkle(Tiggy for short) because I love the story by Beatrix Potter.

I have a boy hedgehog named Pinecone, he's very friendly and not hard to hold just like a pinecone, thus his name. The little girl is Chinquapin, which is a dwarf chestnut, that grows in a prickly ball, fits her perfectly :)

Well,
I have a hedgehog named Velcro, 'cause he's scratchy on one side and soft on the other.
