I’m deeply sorry to have
to announce that due to continuing difference in rescue philosophies. Heaven’s
Gate Animal Rescue will no longer be able to participate in the PETsMART
LUV-A-PET Adoption program. HGAR never has and will not now participate in any kind
of quota system. In the 11 years we were a LUV-A-PET partner, we found our
screening and adoption procedures resulted in very small percentage of the 5000
pets adopted ending up having to be returned. We have always felt and continue
to, that it is the quality of new homes found not the quantity that is one of
the most important factors in our rescue efforts. Until such time as we can
find a new location for our pets to be shown and our interviews done we will be
forced to stop accepting any pets in to our program. We will still offer any
assistance we can with referrals.
We wish to thank
everybody who as helped us and HGAR all these years. Especially the volunteers
I know their hearts are breaking just as mine is. We
all found great joy in helping find forever homes for the many, many orphaned,
abused and abandoned pets we took in. The “DREAM” has always been and still is
to have a small farm or similar property to convert into a Sanctuary to be able
to help more pets in need. We could never seem to reach or modest monetary goal
of $300.000.00. All of HGAR’s funds went for food, litter, toys, bowls, bushes
any other supplies plus the astronomically high monthly veterinary charges. The
pets always came first so the funds for the sanctuary were never reached. So we
have temporally broken down. But with Gods help and love he will puts us back
on the path he has planned for HGAR.
See you soon
God bless you all
