On
meeting Venus
When
I'm alone with nothing to do,
I lie in my room and I think of you.
My thoughts drift to you far away,
And I hear a voice within me say:
"Do you love her - yes or no?"
I answer: "Oh yes, Oh yes - I love her so"
Then
for a moment I do not think
As slowly, so slowly into sleep I sink.
I see a young woman along the way
And again I hear that same voice say:
"Would you ever harm this girl so pure?"
I answer: "Oh no. oh no - of this I'm sure"
She
stands and looks at me a while,
And then she begins to smile.
Then she asks : "What do you love?"
On her hand I see a pure white dove.
"I love the body and the soul,
I love the person as a whole"
Then
I ask her : "Who are you,
That you enquire about my love so true?"
In my hand she places the dove,
And answers; "I am Venus the Goddess of Love.
You've pass the test - a blessing won -
You love the person and soul as one!"
