The Ship of Love

Floating on the sea within my mind -
The wreck of a noble galleon,
Whose sails once billowed with the wind,
Who rode the wave like Neptunes stallion.

And now the flotsam - waterlogged,
Drifts aimlessly on the restless tide,
Through days all clear and days all fogged,
To be washed up on the beaches wide.

Oh pirate ship that graced the sea,
Through fiery tempest and celestial peace,
That sailed my mind and captured me.
The time has come your voyage will cease.

And in the mourning sky afar - above,
I see your phantom ghost:
A pirate ship - the ship of love
To your name I drink this toast.
