Let me make a BIG suggestion to you! If you use your computer quite a bit (school work, research, playtime) and have not cleaned your C drive up - you need to! Following these directions:
Make sure that there are NO programs running (ie the internet, a virus protector, AOL instant messenger)
Click Start
Go to Programs
Click Accessories
Click System Tools
Click Scan Disk
A box will appear - make sure your C drive is highlighted. Put a check in the box that says (under type of test) Thorough. Also check the box that is beside the sentence "Automatically fix errors"
This will take some time to perform. The amount of time depends on your computer (how quick it is!) Once your systems check is done your computer will run a lot smoother. Do this once a week.
You should be able to copy and paste from
this page....all the spaces have been added, even if it does not look like it! JUST be sure and change
all the pertinant information that relates to YOU!
Make sure and this
page!
Posting size when
posting graphics
It's very important to post the size when you post a graphic. This will help your site load as
quickly as possible. If you do not know the size, simply right click on the graphic, then click VIEW
graphic. The
width is always posted first, height second. Here is an example:
<img src="thecoop.gif" width="150" height="100" border="0" alt="CoopLink">
Posting border="0" will keep your linking graphics CLEAN...without that bothersome ring around
them.
Posting alt="___________" is simply the name you give the graphic.
Putting a "mailto:" address on an email
If you email someone and would like them to respond to another email address, simply put this on your email:
mailto:mhtmom@bellsouth.net
That will create a hyperlink that can be clicked to obtain a new message box.

My suggestion is to copy and paste the above to a page you wish to save it on, and then change it-
The lines have to be a certain way (first three are individual lines..)

Putting A Signature
On Your Email
You have to make up something to save-a quote and your http address is
fine-- go to an area where you can write it and save it... like note
pad or even a blank page in Microsoft works would
do- You take that blank page, and type in what you want to show at the
bottom of your mail-
Type in what you want...then save to your C-drive- this will have to be saved as TEXT
document, not just document.
Go to your mail section, find the OPTIONS...MAIL AND NEWS
PREFERENCES........
then go to Identify- you will see a signature file- Browse until you
have the file that you saved- I saved mine as SIGNATURE (duh!!!)
click ok.......
now...once you have finished- go to your mail, and mail me a note-
whatever you have saved.....should be on the bottom of the email- like
mine is----
This should generate more traffic to your page- you advertise it each
time you send an email!
To Put Music on Your
View Guest Book Page
To get music to play in your guestbook, you need to go to the
UTILITY page, and on to where you can add backgrounds and text...
Insert the following code:
<embed src="//www.oocities.org/Colosseum/Field/2750/friends.mid" height="0" width="0"
loop=true autostart=true> with your own
MIDI source, of course! Submitted by ~Kymberlie

Using A Left Sided
Bordered Background
When you have a background with a border on the left, you
need to indent your wording. Visit my teaching background site to find out how
do do this.
Enabling Someone To
Upload A Zipped File From Your Site
After you upload the zipped file into GeoCities, you then post this:

Getting Your Own

Concerning
Emails
When you specify on your homepage for someone to email you about a certain issue, the
subject is always BLANK...well, here is a cool way
to automatically have that subject filled in:
<a href="mailto:mhtmom@bellsouth.net?subject=AWARD">EMAIL

Where I have written AWARD, you can type anything in!
A Terrific Source For
ALL Your HTML Needs
Found, quite by accident, this site has GIF size reduction, an Imaging
Machine and the coolest site is the
Doctor HTML.The Doctor HTML will take
your web site and examine the Document Structure, Table Structure, Form Structure, Image
Analysis, Spelling,
and perform several other "tests". You will be given a summary sheet, and after printing this, you will
be able to re-edit your web site page....Too Cool!
