Rose's For Katy

Roses For Katy

Petals of crimson red,
With a fragrance of sweet perfume...
These roses are for Katy..
Florals in full bloom.

Thorns along its stems
Like those that Jesus wore
When He gave His all for us..
For life eternally more...

Now everytime I see a rose
In gardens I stroll near
I'll think of you sweet Child of God...
And send you some sweet cheer.

These roses are for Katy
And Oh! they smell so sweet...
Another of God's miracles,
The garden's most elite.

So here's a special rose
I picked it just for you
To brighten up your days to come..
And send my love to you.

I was told about Katy
by my Aunt Lydia,
who is a Hospice
Nurse in Mobile, AL.

Katy is 26 years old, married, and has
3 children
Brittney 7, Sarah 5, and
Savannah 4.

Three years ago Katy was
diagnosed with Malignant
Melanoma on her right
leg. She had surgery,
underwent
Chemotherapy,
and did very well
until last
year when her
tumor came
back. She
had surgery again
on Christmas.
Katy has now
been given
less than a
month to remain
with us
before going to
be with the Lord.

A Dozen Roses
I got a dozen roses
From a friend the other day;
But I only have 1 left,
For I gave them all away.
~~~
I gave one to my sister,
Who to me is very dear,
In hopes that it will bring to her
A little floral cheer.
~~~
I took one to a friend
Who's not feeling very well:
The flower or the visit--
Which helped more I could not tell.
~~~
One went to a friend
I haven't known for very long
She struggles, so in some small way,
I hope this helps her carry on.
~~~
The rest went to the ones
Who've helped me in so many ways;
They have been a cheerful presensce
On my dreary days.
~~~
The roses were so pretty
I just could not keep them all
Except one single bud standing
Beautiful and tall.
~~~
My friend gave me the flowers
To help brighten up my day,
But the biggest joy I received,
Was giving them away.

I Saw Two Clouds At Morning
I saw two clouds at morning,
Tinged with the rising sun,
And in the dawn they floated on,
And mingled into one:
I thought that morning cloud was blest,
It moved so sweetly to the west.

I saw two summer currents
Flow smoothly to their meeting,
And join their course, with silent force,
In peace each other greeting:
Calm was their course through banks of green,
While dimpling eddies played between.

Such be your gentle motion,
Til life's past pulse shall beat;
Like summer's beam, and summer's stream,
Float on, in joy, to meet
A calmer sea, where storms shall cease--
A purer sky, where all is peace.

The Background Music is "The Rose"
Written by Amanda McBride

"The Rose"
Some say love it is the river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love it is the razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love it is a hunger
an aching endless need.
I say love it is a flower
and you, it's only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to Dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong.
Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun's love in the spring
becomes the Rose.

The Rose

Morning mist rest peacefully,
Upon the petals red...
Early sun gives nourishment...
To florals in the bed.

Dew gives kisses soft and sweet,
The red rose makes a friend...
Dawn is fast approaching...
The darkness now must end.

Elegant and full of grace,
It stretches to the sun...
Almost like it's calling...
To be taken by someone.

The red rose yearns for love,
To place a smile upon a face...
Blooming in full balance..
With beauty and with grace.

It leaves it's bed so happily,
So glad to find a place...
To touch a heart so full of love...
This rose sits in my vase!
