Velvet Thoughts......and More

For Julia, On Her Birthday

By:ChopChopSD.................

When the morning sun brings God's touch

to the world for renew;

The pain is mixed with the memories

of the time I spent with you.

The night breeze begs to have her touch,

the setting sun pleads for her golden hue;

But beware, her laughter like a crystal chime,

will throw a satin net on you.

But there is a place where we all escape,

that in the mind lies deep as a sea of blue;

Where still the flowers greet those rays of hope,

and morning doves still coo.

In that place there is seen the footprints of my soul,

marked in the tears of dew;

For there is no escaping from that place,

no going back or passing through;

For I am forever trapped within those Velvet thoughts,

of the best friend that I never knew.

the end.................

You get a thornWith every rose.

Goodbye For Now
by:  1998 IAmSparrow

A little scrap of paper
on which I wrote your name,
Brings back to me the memory
of how quickly that day came.

The Last time I saw you..
I gazed deeply into your eyes,
I watched and I listened as
your laughter turned into sighs.

we realized our time together
was gone but had been spent,
in making beautiful memories..
of things we did and places we went.

you took a part of me with you
and it's so sad for me to say ,
You took the twinkle from my eyes
For you had to go and I had to stay.

I sit beside my window
and stare out into the night,
my mind weighs as in a balance
The wrong against the right.

Now the minutes seem like hours
and the hours seem like days,
Everywhere I look I see you
In shadows and sunny rays.

Time is the great healer
and this is true I know, but then..
How can it heal my broken heart?
I said goodbye to my best friend.

This little slip of paper
that I look at every day
gives me hope and makes me think,
somehow, somewhere, some way......

The End
