1. Lester Verner McAferty, born 3-27-1911 in Littlerock, WA. Died 12-4-1941 in Tumwater, WA. Buried in Masonic Cemetery, Tumwater, WA. Occupation: Electrician and Auto Mechanic. Married Flora Bell Underwood on 10-28-1931 in Olympia, WA. Flora was born 9-27-1913 in Millford, TX.

At age 11, he couldn't walk. He was a sickly child. Apparently, Lester had sugar diabetes that was cured by a particular diet, given to him by his mother, Effie. By age 18, there was no more trace of the diabetes. At age 17, he was run over by a car by the cemetery, which was by their home in Olympia. One arm and leg were tore up pretty badly. He had pneumonia and pleurisy and spent six weeks in the hospital. Had his tonsils out after his two sons were born. There were abscesses and he almost died. Lester was a telephone line workman, and on 3-4-41 (or December 4?), the rotted pole he was working on, broke, and he fell to this death. His nickname was "Gabe".

Married Lou Nell Glacier on 8-7-1937 in Rochester, WA. Lou Nell was born 3-4-1916 in Olympia, WA. Died 4-28-1942 in Olympia, WA. Buried in Renton, WA.

Their children were: Lew Franklin McAferty and Raymond Patrick McAferty.

3. Ella June McAferty, born 3-18-1917 in Tumwater, WA. Died 4-5-97 in Olympia, WA. Occupation: Associate Real Estate Broker. Married Maynard Harry Holmes on 7-6-1936 in Tumwater, WA. Maynard was born 9-13-1916 in Ross, North Dakota. Died 5-15-1975 in Olympia, WA.

Their children were: Linda Gail Homes and Tamra Joyce Holmes.

Ella married two other times. Her second marriage was to Fred Miner, and her third marriage was to Lee Childers.
