I have been Lactose Intolerant for 3 years now, and it has greatly affected my life and mostly my way of eating. I have spent countless hours surfing the web looking for sites to get information and understanding for this sudden allergy. Since there are alot of children out there in the world that are Milk Protein Allergic and Lactose Intolerant I wanted to share my findings. I have personnally found these sites to be very useful and informative. If you know of any sites, please feel free to email me, and I will add them to my page. Oh and.. I MISS ICECREAM.

UPDATE:
I have some wonderful news for all lactose intolerant people like myself.. I have found a cheese we can it, in moderation of course.. but it's real cheese!   CHEDDAR  That's right, Cheddar cheese, I still can't believe it.  I find the extra sharp, which is aged the longest is the best.  I now eat grilled cheddar cheese sandwiches, I put it in my salads.. I am going Cheddar crazy!  This was a wonderful discovery for me, I have over the past 3 years, still try to consume a small amount of dairy products, but the result was always the same, I would become deathly ill, and regret once again subjecting myself to this suffering.  The secret is in the aging.. the more aged the cheese, the less lactose it contains.

I have also found I can eat small amounts of Parmesian or Romano cheese on my pasta, however I do take medication before doing so.  I finally was perscribed the 2 following drugs, which has enabled me to enjoy my pasta with cheese, and to eat small amounts of fried foods.  The drugs I take are Prilosec, and Pancrease.  The Prilosec stops the stomach for producing acid, the Pancrease is a enzime that digests dairy and fatty products in your stomach, although not a cure by a long shot, it has helped.  The Pancrease even helps, if I accidentally eat something that is say... coated with butter.. yep, I am that allergic, I can't even have butter anymore.

Also, did you know that there is now a Dairy free Ice Cream?  It is made by Mocha, and comes in 3 flavors, my family tells me that it's not as sweet as real ice cream, but hey after 3 years of not having a rootbeer float, or ice cream cone, I can't tell the difference.  This product is available in most supermarkets, like Safeway.

I hope this information is helpful to other lactose suffers like myself.  If you have any additional news please email me, I love to hear new information, I'm always looking for ways to make old favorite dishes, tasty yet lactose free.
