Family Surnames

This is a list of some of my family Surnames that I am currently researching. The names that have links are the ones that I have the most information on. The links go to descendant reports that span several generations. If any of these names are in your family tree, please e-mail me or sign my guestbook so I can get in touch with you.

You will see Barbara Linnertz and Warren Hopkins and their descendants here twice in many of these reports. That is because they were kissing cousins. Barbara's great grandmother, Sarah Jane Gater, and Warren's grandmother, Millie Gater, were sisters. This causes some confusion to those of us who are descendants of Barbara and Warren, because we are not only siblings, but cousins to each other, our parents, all of our aunts and uncles, twice to all of our first cousins, our children, and to our grandchildren.

There are many names among these that have been mentioned in the history books of England and the United States. We are descended from Kings and Queens of England and yet many men of the same line fought for the freedom of the United States from England many years later. Some of these ancestors also came over on the Mayflower and many of them were in the New Word even before the Mayflower arrived. They fought in the Revolution, they fought Indians, they fought in the Civil War, and every other war down through history.
