Timberlake, now the wife of George W. Baylor, her youngest child.

A reward for the arrest of deserters had been offered by advertisement - attempt would be made to persuade the Assembly to retain the Prov. Regiment in pay.

Henry Timberlake, late of the 42nd Regiment, had petitioned the Commission for financial assistance to cover the maintenance in England & passage back to Virginia three Cherokees brought over without authority.

Details of Henry Timberlake's career in North America. Died whilst on half pay rather than as being a serving officer, but wife is to be granted a full pension.

  1782 "Old New Kent County" by Malcolm Hart Harris, 1977, Volume I New Kent County Land Tax records indicate that Richard Timberlake owned 320 acres of land.

Gentry & Nancy, his wife, of St. Paul's, dec'd, bought of Richard Foster & Sarah, his wife, this land on branches Totopotomoy Creek & dec'd, & in his will left to his daughter Nancy Sims, (now Nancy, the wife of said John Gentry) who 1st married Parke Smith & wh. Parke Smith sold to John Parke, who sold it to Joseph Brand, who sold it to William Sims, who sold it to John Timberlake, dec'd & was inherited by Benjamin Timberlake, son of John adj. Archer's, Tyler's, Gentry, Sims. Parke Smith had only a life interest & soon after giving a deed to said land dated 7 Sept. 1775, left the state & is now supposed to be dead.
  4/17/1872 New Kent County Deed Book 1, 1864-1872, #929.375543, Page 87, Item 640 John M. Timberlake to trustee Edgar M. Crump, deed of trust secured by Timberlake's 300 acres where he resides in New Kent County.

Baylor, born January 5th, 1785 and married to Betsy D. Timberlake on the 3d day of December 1807. He was the son of Major Walker Baylor, who was the son of Col. John Baylor of Caroline County, Virginia, who intermarried with Frances Walker. She (Betsy Timberlake) was a Friend-Quaker. They were descendants from England. George W. Baylor's mother was the daughter of Joseph Bledsoe. Betsy Davis Timberlake born October 19, 1789.
