Welcome! This is the home page for the Cat's Meow Ring, a group of sites belonging to any cat with a purrsonal cat page.
Please note that this ring is only for pages that belong to cats. The pages must be the cat's own page, or must contain significant information about cats. We are talking about real cats here - but cyber-cats are ok.

If you are already part of the Cat's Meow Ring, and need to edit your site's attributes (URL, your e-mail address, site description, or password), enter your site ID and password below:

How To Join The Ring

Below are the steps to join the Cat's Meow Ring. Please read them before you register with the Cat's Meow Ring, and follow them closely to preserve the integrity of the ring!

1. Right-click on any set of two Cat's Meow Ring graphics below to save them. You must install the graphics at your own site. Again: be sure to copy the graphics!

2. Register with the ring.

This will put your page in the Cat's Meow Ring 'Queue', where it will remain until you are added to the ring. Registering does not insert you in the ring; the actual insertion is done after your page has been reviewed.

3. After you register, you will be sent, by e-mail, the HTML code for your page. Please wait for it; you don't need to try to capture any of the code here.

4. Edit the code to insert your e-mail address and your name in the code.

Make sure the code points to images on your own site. The Cat's Meow Ring link should still point to http://www.oocities.org/Heartland/Pointe/4669/ourwebring.html. If you have copied the second set of graphics, edit the code to show the correct file names.

5. Add the revised code to your cat page.

If the page is not the cat page, please provide a link to your cat page and a link back to the location of the Cat's Meow Ring HTML.Please place the HTML fragment on the page that you registered as your Cat's Meow Ring page. The surfer should land on the page that contains the Cat's Meow Ring code. It is best if this page is the actual cat page.

6. Your completed page should show the Cat's Meow Ring code as below, but with your name in the blank.

8. After checking out your page, you will be added to the ring. You should then receive an e-mail telling you that you've been added. Then you will be able to navigate the entire ring.

9. Be sure to write down your site number and password - you'll need them should you want to revise your listing in the Cat's Meow Ring.

Copy a set of graphics, then Register With the Cat's Meow Ring.

Cat's Meow Ring Graphics

The first set of graphics has a transparent background and is suitable for most sites. The second set has a white background, and is suitable for sites with dark or black backgrounds.

Set 1 : The graphic on the left is catsmeow1.gif; on the right is catsmeow2.gif. These are used in the Cat's Meow Ring code fragment by default.
