There's a lighthouse on the hillside that overlooks the sea When I'm tossed...it sends out a light, that I might see And the light that shines in darkness now will safely leads us o'er, If it wasn't for that lighthouse my ship would be no more.
And I thank God for the lighthouse I owe my life to Him For Jesus is the lighthouse and from the rocks of sin He has shone a light around me That I could clearly see... If it wasn't for the lighthouse Where would this ship be? .....Song by Ronnie Hinson
Lord, Keep My Eyes On Thee
Some may sail the ocean wide But give me a little stream Where I may quietly relax And there so happily dream. One may scale the mountains high But give me a grove of trees Where I may stroll so leisurely Amidst a refreshing breeze. One may live in mansions great, But give me a cottage small Where love and sweet contentment reign And where peace embraces all. One may fly the skies of blue, But give me the greening earth where floral gardens I might tend, Where my heart is filled with mirth. One may bask in pleasures great, But e'er this my prayer shall be: "Lord, may I never choose a course That would take my eyes off Thee." ...........Loise Pinkerton Fritz
THE HARBOR
There's a harbor where dream boats are anchored And, oh, what a bright spot it is! It's clear as a bell that is ringing And there's nary a sprinkling of mist, It's far from the world and it's burdens, Far from th world and it's cares; So calm and serene is this setting And each has a boat anchored there.
There's a harbor where dream boats are anchored And there in this setting, serene, Each one looks ahead down life's waters In hope of fulfilling a dream. The heart is this harbor for dream boats, And while they are anchored there, Let us ask God for help and for guidance As we for life's jouney prepare.
