The Province Of Ontario

"Home sweet Home"

niagra falls.jpg (27419 bytes) I figured I would start out with Niagara Falls.Think of tons of water roaring past and plunging some 170 feet to the bottom, really awesome to watch. Niagara Falls is one of the most famous and spectacular natural wonders of the world. It has attracted every one from daredevils, sightseers and honeymooners over the years. At night they have the falls bathed in colored lights, an awesome sight. In the winter   time it is covered with ice and 50% of the water is diverted to supply hydro-electric generation by both Canada and the United States. The power of the falls is so immense and enhanced by ice and snow is really awesome to see. There are higher  water falls in the world but none with greater volume or majesty.Niagara Falls offers something for all ages, fine dinning, excellent lodging and many attractions.

toronto skyline.jpg (12652 bytes)The Toronto skyline is beautiful as seen from this photo taken from the Toronto Islands. At the right you can see the ferry that runs to the Islands. Along the water front is Harbourfront Center, Ontario Place, Leslie Street Split and Waterfront trail.Just a few of the sites that Toronto has to offer.

featival of lights.jpg (24190 bytes)

The festival of lights at Toronto's City Hall. Each year Toronto puts on the impressive festival which is very pleasing to the eye of many visitors.

sunset near Parry Sound.jpg (15805 bytes)

Ontario has some really spectacular sunsets that are so relaxing and pleasing to the eye. This one was taken near Parry Sound. Picture a warm evening sitting and seeing this. What else could one ask for, natures beauty in all its glory.

sunset at new liskeard.jpg (15398 bytes)

Here is another beautiful sunset taken near New Liskeard. Ontario's North has a substantial French speaking population. early in this century, many people from Quebec settled in this area around Hearst. This area is known for it's winter carnivals and snow mobile trails. A must to visit for anyone that loves the winter sports.

the avon river.jpg (38168 bytes)

As I stated earlier I love sunsets so here is another one for you to enjoy also. This one is the Avon River at Stratford. the Stratford festival features many plays,  musicals and dramas on stage. People travel from miles around to see the productions. Ontario has almost 30 summer theatre companies in every corner of the province. They perform in Victorian Opera Houses, barns and theatre's overlooking Lake Huron, the St. Lawrence River and the Avon River. Everything from great classics and plays of Shaw and Shakespeare to contemporary comedies, and musicals from the stages of London and New York. What ever you like you will find a memorable summer production.

aubrey falls near thessalon.jpg (45072 bytes)This is a pic I ran across taken at Aubrey Falls near Thessalon. I just had to include it as it is so beautiful. There are so many scenic places in Ontario that it would take forever to show them all and this is one of them. Through out Ontario  are many places that are like this one. Should make the hikers and campers and fishermen drool.Ontario has fly in fishing and hunting camps where you are really out in the wilds. Along with places like Algonquin National Park which is incredibly huge. I will have a section for hunters and fishermen in the near future. and sections for people who love the winter sports. Myself I am like an old bear and stay inside in the winter but the thoughts of a log fire in a cozy little cabin with scenery like this to look at every day would please anyone.

lake superior park.jpg (22530 bytes)This is a photo taken at Lake Superior Provincial Park. that is not to say the whole park looks like this but it is really cool and there are places in Ontario where white water rafters and canoeists can play. A great place to spend a memorable summer vacation or a winter one depending on what you like to do.

story book gardens.jpg (35166 bytes)Story Book Gardens is in London Ontario and is a fantastic place to take kids of all ages. they have boat rides and rides for children along with animals and stores for souvenirs, food outlets and you are within minutes of downtown London. you could spend a whole day there and enjoy every minute of it. And the parking is substantial. It offers something for everyone at any age.

All of the places I have on this page have many things to offer and sites to see that I have not touched on as it would take months to list all the attractions that they offer. Toronto alone would take forever with all the things they have there from the Toronto ZOO to the CN Tower and the same with London and all the other places. To find out more information call your local travel agent or check out the web sites on the net  for the places you want to see or visit. This site is not to place more emphasis on any one place over another. I designed this site just to show a little of our Province and is not in any way a tourist information site , I will leave that to the pros who get paid for it.This is dedicated to my friends on line that can't come here but would enjoy seeing this beautiful province. As cities grow and change so does the information about them so I am in no way responsible for the accuracy of the info on here though I will try to have recent facts. Thank you Midibass.
