hi, i am an amateur rockhound and was looking for local rock shops. i grew up in san diego, and remember a shop that existed in poway about 20 years ago, when i was 8 years old...but i haven't seen that one or heard of any others for that matter! looking for a good ol local rock shop with lots of rough s ecimens for sale! thanks, Ben bmartin1@san.rr.com

We are just learning to Rockhound. My husband and I are very interested in learning more. We want to go on field trips to find different types of rocks and gems. We have done a little Rockhounding. As a matter of fact, we were by the Hauser Geode Beds last weekend hunting geodes by Wiley Wells. We found some small ones, but nothing larger than a potatoe. We think we were at potatoe patch.
