Dad

I will always love you dad

In loving memory my father, Robert J. Shay
May 1/1914 to May 23/1995
Gone but never forgotten
A wonderful man who is loved and missed.

GOD'S GARDEN

GOD LOOKED AROUND HIS GARDEN,
AND SAW AN EMPTY PLACE.
HE THEN LOOKED DOWN UPON THE EARTH,
AND SAW YOUR TIRED FACE.
HE KNEW YOU WERE SUFFERING
HE KNEW YOU WERE IN PAIN.
HE ALSO KNEW IN HEAVEN
YOU WOULD NEVER HURT AGAIN.
SO, HE PUT HIS ARMS AROUND YOU
AND LIFTED YOU TO REST.
GOD'S GARDEN MUST BE BEAUTIFUL
HE ALWAYS TAKES THE BEST.
HE KNEW THE ROADS WERE GETTING ROUGH
AND THE HILLS HARDER TO CLIMB.
SO HE CLOSED YOUR WEARY EYELIDS
AND WHISPERED PEACE BE THINE.
IT BROKE OUR HEARTS TO LOSE YOU
BUT YOU DIDN'T GO ALONE.
FOR PART OF US WENT WITH YOU
THE DAY GOD CALLED YOU HOME.
IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRCASE,
AND MEMORIES A LANE,
WE'D WALK ALL THE WAY TO HEAVEN
AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN.

I lost a part of my life when I lost my dad.
They say time heals all wounds, but somehow I
don't think the pain of losing a loved one ever
heals. I miss him as much today as I did the day
he died.
