"Amazing Grace"

...From Kyle

About 3 years ago, we talked my mother into getting a computer in an attempt to keep her up with the changing times. We often picture our 64 year old mothers baking and knitting or sewing, which Mama continued to do and did very well. But in this new and confusing technology that was thrust upon her, our Mother embraced, and took full advantage of, not only an exciting new resource from which to feed her own hunger for the knowledge of God’s word, but yet another way to share her testimony and spread the love of God throughout the far corners of the world.
She taught herself how to write web pages and proceeded to create a website, which was and is viewable by anyone in the world with a computer and internet access, entitled "My Love for God", which she filled with her wonderful testimony and a daily journal of her battle with the disease that eventually took her life. In her words, which were read by people from as far away as Vietnam, Africa, and Australia, she gave life and hope to so many others by sharing the Gospel of our Lord and her faith, strength and courage in dealing with the hardships she faced.
Even to her own children, who often were too busy or caught up in daily life to go and visit her and hear it first hand, she would send almost daily emails filled with scriptures, wisdom, inspiration, and anything else she thought might help us in our own walks with God.
This was her goal in life. She lived every day to share God’s word and took every opportunity possible to be a witness for Him and to glorify His name.
Here is an excerpt from her online journal. An example of how even in adversity, Mama’s main concern was sharing the Gospel with everyone she came in contact with:

09/11/98-Friday-I went to the hospital for the cat scan and wouldn't you know, the machine broke down. It took thirty minutes for it to get fixed. In that time, I got to tell the technician all about Jesus and my testimony.

As time wore on and she realized that a physical healing was not in God’s plan, she continued to inspire us, as is evident in this final excerpt I will read from her journal:

05/20/99-Thursday-Thru' it all, I still believe I have received a healing. If not in the lung, I know He's healing some things in my heart that were really important to Him. Every day that I live, He's bringing me one step closer to home. God is still on the throne and He is still in control. Whatever happens, I will enter His courts, with thanksgiving and praise. He is my love.

Thank you Mama for showing us so much of God’s love in so many ways and for being an example of the kind of Christian we should all strive to be.
