Candle Vigil Across the Internet
On December 6th, 1989, 14 women were killed for being "feminists" at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada. This tragedy in Canadian history has not been forgotten.
The aim is to raise awareness of violence against women across Canada and throughout cyberspace. This is being done by presenting the Candle light vigil across the internet.
In November 1996 the site was intended to be a week-long vigil, the response has been so large that a second vigil is being held. It's a year later and violence against women continues to be an issue close to our hearts.
If this "speaks" to your heart, join in this protest against all forms of violence against women. The candle vigil will now be held running all year around to help us remember that violence happens every day to women all over the world.
Go to the Vigil Page , pick up a candle and place it on your page. Link it back to the vigil page. And lets all hope that the violence one day will stop.
LIGHT A CANDLE FOR ALL VIOLENCE TO STOP. HELP MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE
