AM I OBSESSED? Maybe!

But I can sure think of worse things!

Everything you see on this page is in my own personal Lucille Ball / I Love Lucy collection. This amazing lady has made me smile nearly every single day of my life - nearly all 38 years - from when I can remember, anyway. I started watching I Love Lucy with my mom... don't know the exact year, but I was little. Late 1960's. We watched EVERYTHING Lucy! All the sitcoms, reruns - you name it. I formed an appreciation for her at a very young age.

At 17 or 18, I started collecting. It all started with a single magazine. Yes, "THE" magazine - the very first TV Guide with that famous baby on the cover! From then on it was everything I came across. I especially love the dolls.

Remember - this was "pre-eBay" - so the treasures I found really were just that, rare treasures! Now things are a little easier to come across, but those special, truly UNIQUE vintage items - the old publications - personal items - the once-in-a-lifetime pieces of "Lucy" history... they are still quite evasive. Either due to them being a rarity, or way out of my price range.

I attended the auction held during Lucy's birthday bash in Jamestown in 2005. So many amazing pieces were auctioned, and I was lucky to have obtained a few. Things like a special Mame keychain she had made for her coworkers, an I Love Lucy Script, an Eloise color sketch, an unused Lucy Show ticket, an award that Lucy was given and sat in her home, to the painting of her children that hung on her wall (believe that was donated my Michael Stern - a/k/a "Lucy's #1 Fan!) .... I had to let those things go, and it was a HUGE bummer. How can you compete in an audience of fellow Lucy admirers that came from far and wide? I say there's always the next auction, right!?

The pictures that follow below aren't really in any order. They are also 'borrowed' pix, but show the same items I have. I've got to take the time and organize this page, and add even more pictures! This is a VERY SMALL sample of my Lucy stuff! I adore the vintage items - but appreciate the new things, too. Anything & everything Lucy!

ENJOY!!

THIS is the FAVORITE of all my "Lucy" items...

it's MY English Bulldog named... what else - LUCY!! We adopted her in 11/05.

This is a one-of-a-kind original Painting by Gary Peters -
the same artistic genius who painted all the murals in
downtown Jamestown NY! It's HUGE!

This is a one-of-a-kind original beautiful Painting by Rick Carl -
the same artist responsible for the Lucy Paper Dolls,
among many other things!!

A beautiful LESLIE PENN original. An 8x10 pastel ink from a
self-taught artist w/some formal training who's been selling
her work on eBay for years. She's had a continuing interest in
Art Deco & the movies of the 1920's, 1930's & 1940's. The classic
beauty of the actors and actresses of the time inspired her to create
the art. Sometimes from magazine cover art... taking that as a base
and then layering up to 5 layers of pastel pencil over it. Each one
has its own personality - isn't is beautiful?! Interested in your
own - she's open for commissions! If there is a star you would like,
email her at leslie@hollywoodpastels.com - her eBay seller name is SLPENN -
check out her current offerings!

LIFE AFTER LUCY... Autographed for me by Keith Thibodeaux - aka Richard Keith, LITTLE RICKY! I was like a babbling idiot waiting for him at a book signing. I barely was able to say two words. MY GOD PEOPLE - it was Little Ricky! (Sorry Keith - I read your book and was astonished to hear what a life you led. So glad you found happiness!)

I Love Lucy ... Elisabeth Edwards

I LOVE LUCY ... Deanna Gaffner-McClay, Michael McClay

FOR THE LOVE OF LUCY ... by the Master of Ceremonies himself -- RIC B. WYMAN! A quick word about Ric: We had the chance to meet & chat briefly with Ric at the 2005 Lucy Festival. From afar, he was the softspoken, unbelievably organized, class act that took charge of the Festival. In person - he was very friendly and a complete gentleman. We noticed often that he said hello & took the time to greet all the Lucy fans who approached him, without hesitation. Truly a man who must love his work. He actually was kind enough to offer us the Ricky Jr carriage after the auction had ended, since I was in the bathroom when it came up - no one met the reserve, so it was passed. He walked with us all over to pick it up and pay for it. I was, and still am, so grateful. A real pleasure!

LUCY, the Bittersweet Life of Lucille Ball ... Joe Morella and Edward Epstein

LUCY & DESI, the Legendary Love Story of Television's Most Famous Couple ... Warren G. Harris
