REPLACEMENT OF THE WATER STREET BRIDGE

THE BLUE BRIDGE COMES DOWN

The Water Street, often called the Blue Bridge, came tumbling down April 10, 1999 at 6:30 in the morning to make ready for a new bridge. The Logan General Hospital looms in the background.

Heavy equipment and signs proclaiming "bridge closed" ends the road now.

The building of the new bridge is ahead of schedule and may be open by December.
