Dolphins

I love dolphins, here are some images and information I found. Did you know that dolphins are also called "Angles of the sea"?? I also put some Island and tropical things in with them and a few surprises..

THIS IS A LITTLE ABOUT THEM

The average life expectancy (in the wild and in captivity) is about 25 years. The maximum age is more than 40 years, although only few dolphins will reach it. They can swim up to 40 km/hour but the optimum swimming speed (at which a ghin spends a minimum of energy) is about 8 km/hours. Bottlenose dolphins are capable of diving for up to 20 minutes at 300 meters, but usually they will not dive very deep. Some populations live in areas that are only 1 to 10 meters deep. They sleep about 8 hrs/day, the rest of the day they spend with feeding, travelling and sexual activities (also among the same sexes). Interesting is that dolphins sleep only with one half of their brain at a time. Dolphins are breathing voluntarily, which means consciously. While they are sleeping they are floating at the surface, with always one eye open. Would they sleep unconsciously as we do they would actually suffocate or drown.
