Heartland Heritage Homesteader Awards Hello and welcome to the Heritage Community Center Homesteader Awards Page. This is where the homesteaders of Geocities can come to apply for special awards given out to Geocities community homesteaders who have exceptional pages. There are a variety of awards to be given out here for beginner Webmasters all the way up to you "old pros"! So take a look at these and see which one you would like! To apply for one of the following awards, simply get in touch with one of the Heritage team CL's and tell them you are interested in trying for one of the homesteader awards (and which particular award you'd like). They will view your page for eligibility and if you meet the requirements, they will "nominate" your site to be awarded. I will then take a second look at your page and if I agree (which I usually do!) I will send you the award desired with instructions on how to put it on your page. :) Heartland Heritage Cool Site Award This is our award for sites that are starting out and have gotten on their way to a great site! The winners of this award can be proud that they are recognized by the CL's of Heritage as having a lot of potential and that we will be watching their sites grow with anticipation of great things to come! Heartland Heritage "Gem of the Web" Award The Heritage "Gem of the Web Award" is given to sites that have established themselves as "sparkling examples" of creativity and webpage construction techniques. The winners of these awards have solid-built pages with content and purpose. There should be no broken links or images, and no content violations. Heartland Heritage 5 Star Award The Heritage 5 star award is given out to those sites that have distinguished themselves among the top sites in Geocities. To be awarded the 5 Star Award: Your site theme fits within The Heartland Community theme. Your site complies with Geocities' Content Guidelines. Your site does not have any broken links or broken images. If you use frames, you must have an option on your site to use frames or not use them. Your page should be recently updated and be accurately coded. No pages should say, "under construction", or have construction graphics. We will specifically looking at the following areas: Original content-meaning, the site is not just a page of links. It's readability and suitability to the age group it targets. The use of HTML, Java, Javascript, sounds, etc. Heartland Heritage Award of Excellence The Heartland Heritage Award of Excellence is our "Best of the Best" Award. The winners of this Award are truly an elite group of webmasters. To qualify for this award, the applicant must be a previous winner of the 5 Star Award. Applicants must obtain the nomination of two of the CL's in River and will then be judged by all the CL's of the Heritage team. *** A very special thank you to LadySparHawk for her invaluable help in the creation of these Awards.
