Robert Deschazant

Peter Deschazant

John Deschazant

A Peter Deshasero is shown in New Kent County, Virginia on land patents beginning in 1681. This would mean that he would be at least 22 years old, which would put him born by at least 1659. A Robert Deshazo marries an Elizabeth Nichols in Middlesex, VA in 1716, which would put him born by about 1794. A Peter Dechazant, Jr. is shown on King and Queen County, VA land records as deceased by the year 1719 (this could be the earlier Peter Deshasero). On the same page as Peter (in 1719), both a John Dechazant and a Robert Deschazants are shown on King and Queen County, VA land records. These men are very likely the sons of Peter Deshasero/Deschazant. There is no ‘absolute’ evidence that I am aware of (yet). The French spelling of Peter is Pierre, John is Jean. One must be EXTREMELY careful researching these men. Records this far back are not only VERY hard to come by, but are usually very vague and general...meaning that absolute relationships are impossible to make unless specifically stated (as in a will).

It is the "early" Peter that most researchers refer to as being the Progenitor of the Deshazo lines. I do not know of ANY who have found evidence enough to make proven connections to these men. Please let me know if you have any such information. I will be most excited to put it on this site!

NOTE: All these Deshazo’s are very likely related. PLEASE keep in mind that the above surmise is a result of my own research, based on documents that I have found. There are still MANY “loop holes”! Alot of hands and time are needed to research these areas to try and “uncover” more documents that will shed evidences of certainty on the lives of these folks.
