Dear Friends,
I read a quote this morning that has stuck with me today. It is:
"Be more concerned about what God thinks about you, than what people think about you."
As survivors, we automatically "assume" that we will not be accepted or liked by others. Sometimes, it is true that we may be rejected by people. Most of the time, we are not accepted simply because the person talking to us doesn't know how to show compassion and care. They might even be uncomfortable with your strong feelings and they don't know how to deal with those feelings. I'm here to tell you, that if you are rejected, or if your wounded soul is wounded more by a less than compassionate person,
the Lord knows your pain!
I've heard many survivors say, "My pastor doesn't understand me." or "My church would never accept me if they really KNEW me." Or, "I went to church for the first time and no one talked to me at all!"
My friends,
JESUS WOULDN'T DO THAT!
Tonight, I want to remind you that when you are rejected,
our Lord knows your pain and suffering. He stands with you, when you feel rejected, and He says, "I know, I understand. This day, not so long ago, I too...was rejected."
When you are rejected or persecuted for your faith, when you are tossed aside by a therapist who can't understand why the Lord is so important in your life, when you are ignored by those who call themselves "Christians"....
trust and know, that GOD knows and understands your pain.
What "other people" think of us,
is not as important as what God thinks of us! The Holy One knows your pain, feels your aching heart and sees your tears. The Lord will hold you and lift you up out of the darkness and the suffering....and you too, shall rise again!
Hold on to this, in faith...that the darkness will soon turn to light. Amen!
"Happy are those
who are persecuted because they are good, for the Kingdom of Heaven is
theirs!"
(Matthew 5:30)
Peace and God's
Blessings to you!
Cindy
