Snowflake

Size 30 Cebelia makes a snowflake about 3 1/2" across.
Ball and shuttle thread, or two shuttles continuous wound.

Center


R:  5 p 5 p 2 p 2 p 5 p 5.  cl r, rw.

*C:  5 p 5.  rw.

R:  5 j (to last p in prev r ) 2 p 5.  cl r, rw.

C:  5 p 5.  rw.

R:  5 j (to last p in prev r) 5 j (to 4th p in large r) 2 p 2 p 5 p 5.  cl r, rw.

Repeat from ** around until you have 6 large rings and 6 small rings.
Join the last rings to the first rings, keeping in pattern.
Join the last chain to the first ring.
Either cut and tie, or do a split ring to start the next round.


Round 1


R:  5 j (to p on chain) 5 j (to base of large ring) 5 j (to p on chain) 5.  cl r, rw.

C:  6 (p 5) 4 times, p 6.

Repeat around, join last chain to base of first ring.  Do not cut threads.


Round 3


C:  6 p 6 p 6.  rw.

**R:  6 j (to second p on chain of prev round) 6.  cl r, rw.

C:  6 p 6 p 6.  rw.

R:  12 j (to third p on chain of prev round) 12.  cl r, rw.

C:  6 p 6 p 6.  rw.

R:  6 j (to fourth p on chain of prev round) 6.  cl r, rw.

C:  6 p 6 p 6 j (to base of ring of prev round) 6 j (to 2nd p of this chain) 6 p 6.  rw.

Repeat from ** around, end by joining the last chain at the base of the first ring of the prev round.
