My First Web Photo Album

Here I am all covered up with blankets and wires. My "glasses" are really cool, though!! Don't you think so?!?

This was mommy's first time to "hold" my hand, as I was only about 1 week old.

As you can see, that is the top of mommy's "pinky" and I'm trying to hold on...

I'm all wrapped up in a "bunting" which keeps me warm since I cannot maintain my body temperature yet.

Look!! My mommy's and my first hug!! She cried and cried that day!!

On this day, I am only about 2 weeks old and weigh roughly 1 lb. 6 oz. I'm a brute!!!

Mommy and MiMi had to juggle wires and tubes just for a less than 5 minute "hug".

Here's a picture of me looking kind of scrawny.

Well, I'm only about 3 weeks old and weigh around 1 lb. 7 oz.

I'm still on the vent that's why my cute little face is all taped up!!

Here I am trying out my lungs without the help of the ventilator.  I lasted around 5 hours on CPAP and just got way too tired.

This is mommy's first picture of my cute little face without any tape or tubes.  I tried to cry, too, but my throat was too raw and sore to make any noises.

This was one of my favorite things to do. It's called "kangarooing" and it helps create a bond between babies and their parents.

See how comfortable I am. Whenever mommy kangarooed me, my temp would raise and my heart rate would become much more stable. I'd have less apnea and bradychardia episodes, too.

Aren't I the cutest?!?

On my head is an IV, which looks worse than it really is.  Just ask my mommy, cuz she freaked out the first time that she saw this kind of IV. Ugh!

The tube under/in my nose is the CPAP, which helped me to breath but was not as invasive as the vent.  The tube in my mouth was the OG (oral gastrointestinal) tube for feedings.  Yum!!

And that thing on my foot is a pulse oximeter, which told how well I was oxygenating my blood.

Does mommy look tired or what!?!

I got my "walking" papers out of the NICU on this wonderful day!!

Finally, after 104 days in the NICU, my NERVOUS mommy and daddy are taking me home!!!!

This is a picture that was taken the day I got to go HOME!!

I weighed in that morning at a whopping 4 lb. 8 oz.

Boy, was I excited to be going home.  My arms are up in a big hooray!!

Here I am at home hanging out with my mommy.

I'm about 5 months old (actual) and 1 1/2 months (adjusted) and I am weighing around 5 1/2 lbs. I know that I'm still small, but I'm eating like crazy - trying to "catch up"!!!!

Life at home is GRAND!!! NO MORE loud noises from the NICU. NO MORE pokes and sticks from the nurses. AND NO MORE ventilator!! YIPPEE!!!!

Am I stylin' or what?!?

This was mommy's and my first "outing" besides the many doctors appointments that she took me to.

It was only mommy's haircut place, but it sure was exciting and everybody LOVED me!!! I had to agree with them that I was just TOO CUTE!!!
