My mommy decided that y'all might want to know some current, up-to-date information about me, so here goes:
Age: 9 months
real / 5.5 months adjusted
Weight: 15
lbs.
Length: 23
inches
I've learned to roll from my belly to my stomach. I'm actually quite surprised when I do this and then I laugh like crazy. I'm trying my very best to scoot, but I usually end up doing a nose-slam. Ouch!!
I've learned to say 'da-da', 'ba-ba' and 'nine-nine-nine' when I'm REALLY MAD!! I've got two teeth that I use to bite my mommy with. I love to eat baby food and my very favorite is bananas. Yum yum!!
Twice a month ECI (Early Childhood
Intervention) comes out and we get to do therapy. They say that I
have tight hamstrings and ankle muscles, so we do stretching exercises
to make me more limber. Sometimes it's fun, but other times I get
a little annoyed with the therapist. ;o)
Well, my mommy is pretty ashamed of herself for not updating any sooner than now. So let's get down to business.
AGE: 14 months/10 adjusted
I had my first (actual) birthday on August 14th. It was a good day except that I was kind of grouchy, so I slept thru most of the celebration. It was kind of strange that mommy and Mi-mi (grandma) cried through some of it. I thought it was a happy occasion, but they sure do puzzle me sometimes. Mommy told me it was a happy cry, but I don't cry when I'm happy!!
Mommy says that I'm the happiest baby she's ever seen. Guess Jake set her up to think babies were mostly grouchy. tee-hee Anyways, I've learned quite a few new tricks. I love to say 'bye-bye', but only once I'm in the car. I don't like to say it at the right time. I do wave 'bye-bye' sometimes, also. I say 'bubba' for my brothers who I love dearly and sometimes prefer over my mommy. snicker-snicker Just keepin' her guessin'!! I got a new puppy and say 'bubpy'. Mommy thought I was sayin' 'baby', but heck, I'm the baby, so why'd I want to say that?!?
I'm still having my therapist come out once a week and we're working on crawling. I can crawl, but only like 2 scoots-worth. Then I do this swim-crawl looking thing. I've also learned to pull up to a stand. Pretty cool, if I say so myself! I semi-cruise, but forget to hold on, so thank goodness my mommy is close by!! ;oP
I love to eat!!! My favorite is grilled cheese sandwiches. Yum-yum!!! Plus, I like berried-yogurts, any cookies, table foods of which I'm quite picky about. Love that mac'n'cheese, though!!
Check back in cuz I'm bettin' that I'll be crawlin' or walkin' by then and NOBODY will stop me then!!
WEIGHT: 17 lbs.
LENGTH: 24 inches
Well, it's been very busy around my house lately! Mommy says that I've hit some very important dates, but all the days seem the same to me. We celebrated my 1st year anniversary for being home (the day before Thanksgiving) AND today is my first "Un-Birthday" (whatever THAT means...) Hey, check me out hangin' with Santa!! It's my first picture with him and all I wanted to do was pull that white stuff on his face. He didn't appreciate it much though!! ;o)
Age: 26 months
real / 22 months adjusted
Weight: 25
lbs.
Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking!! Where the heck has mommy been? Well, she's been busy going to school to become a NICU nurse, so my webpage has suffered because of it!! She promises to have a new picture page up for me soon. We'll see.... LOL
My ear tube surgery went very well and I've only had about 1 ear infection since. I've learned to walk, run (fast), jump and climb like a pro!! I absolutely LOVE to slide down the slide!! Yee-haw!
Speaking of yee-haw, I am an avid talker and will tell you EXACTLY what I want! I'm never at a loss for words and I bet mommy sure wishes that I was. I can talk in 4 to 5 word sentences, which mommy says is beyond my age. I love my "brudders" and will hunt them down. I cheer them on in football and my favorite sports saying is "Yeah, Allen! (for the town that I live in).
My therapist is quite pleased with my progress, although they were worried about my block-building abilities. HA! Little do they know that I can build a tower 10 high. I just don't like to perform, ya know?!? Anyways, my mommy says that my prematurity issues don't seem to be affecting me much, except that I'm a little smaller in stature (whatever that means!) My chronic lung disease has yet to manifest itself in ANY form. I'm slowly catching up with other kids my age, but I can definitely "out-talk" them.
