My
time at Prestonsburg Community College
has now ended, but I must say that I enjoyed every minute of it. I would encourage anyone to pursue a
higher education, if not there, anywhere.
I was fifty years old when I started in college; I never dreamed I could
finish it. I not only finished, I
finished with three associate degrees and a 4.0 G.P.A. If I can do it, anyone
can.
My name is Carol Howell McGlothen.
I am the daughter of Mary
Moore Howell
and Johnie Howell . I am one of seven daughters. In the future I hope to show you
the beauty of my Eastern Kentucky mountain home, Floyd Co Ky. I will add a bit of
my family's
genealogy,
a dash of folklore, some tourist sites , and much more.
I was born and raised at Price, Ky.
You may ask, "Where in the world is Price, Ky? "
As I reflect back on it, I would
have to say, It was the perfect place to live and grow up. It was a small community built
around rt .122 that certainly was
perfect for raising children. Or at least it seems that way now. We
had a theater, fountain and
a few grocery stores. We also had trustworthy friends
and neighbors and a sparkling clear creek that could quickly be turned into a
swimming hole on a hot summer day.
My husbands name is Charles C.
McGlothen. His family was born in the Bath /Clark/Menifee County area of
Ky. His Mothers surname was Swartz and
his fathers', McGlothen
To My grandchildren, Anthony, 17, Jacob, 7, and
Kaylee, 7 months, I am known as Grannie Carol
Did you attend school in Floyd Co

My children are Tony, 34, and Jessica, 28 and Charles.
Tony is the father of the
two beautiful boys and
a girl. Jessica has two cats, a dog.
My Mom, Worlds Greatest Mom, lives in Wheelwright. All the neighborhood
children visit her quite often, whether it be for a band-aid or a can of cola,
they know, as I always did, that they can depend on
Grannie.
My dad, Johnie Howell, passed away when I was 14. Come visit one of my
most precious memories of him.
My ICQ
number is 7515277, contact me and we will chat
