I am the son of a veteran "Kentucky Coal Miner".
My father like so many others was a miner for 28 year in several of the
mines around "EASTERN KENTUCKY" Mainly, "JOHNSON" , & "FLOYD COUNTY"
He was the third generation of his family to be born in
"JOHNSON COUNTY,KENTUCKY" (Virginia before that)

I was born in Glo, Floyd County, Kentucky, which was considered a coal camp.
These communities popped up all over coal country in Eastern Kentucky.
They were mainly build by the Coal Company owners for employees to rent &
live in while they worked in their mines. As these mines slowed or shut down
people were given the chance to buy these houses. I am one of 13
children born to

Both my parents were born and raised in Sycamore Hollow,
Johnson County, Kentucky.
