Sliders News

I'm no longer going to be posting all the stuff I hear about Sliders and its cast here. I'm too busy with school and personal things to keep this page updated. You can check out http://www.oocities.org/Hollywood/Lot/9053/news.html for all the latest news. If I'm told about something that doesn't show up there, I'll post it bellow.

  • Sliders breaks the ratings record!!! Here's what the Sci-Fi Channel said:
"SLIDERS MAKES SCI-FI HISTORY" "The new season of Sliders debuted on the Sci-Fi Channel Monday night to record viewing numbers, becoming the channel's highest rated series premiere of all time. The first of two back-to-back original Sliders episodes ran at 9 p.m. ET and earned a 2.2 household rating in the Nielsens, which represents 1,072,000 homes. The second original episode ran at 10 p.m. ET and garnered a 2.4 rating, or an estimated 1,168,000 homes. "
"Those numbers were enough to best the channel's former record-setting premiere, the two-hour pilot for Space: Above & Beyond, which aired in January and earned a 2.1 household rating. Sliders also set a new mark for the highest-rated series episode on the channel, a title formerly held by the second telecast of V: The Series, which earned a 1.8 rating in August 1996."
"The new episodes of Sliders kicked off the show's fourth full season and its first on the Sci-Fi Channel. Sliders originally ran on Fox for three seasons before being pulled from that network's programming lineup. "

And Ultimate TV had this first on their page of news!

Way to go, Sliders! Any way to go to all us fans who watched!

  • Cinescape.com has listed my site second on their "Best Sliders Fans Sites" list!!! Wow! Thanks, Cinescape! The page's URL is http://www.cinescape.com/links/tvslidersframes.html

  • Sliders is going to have a track at Dragoncon '98! We should probably all be thanking Shannen Bodell for this! She has put a lot of work into getting it off to a great start! Clear your calendars for a trip to Atlanta this September!

  • Marc Zicree's episode that was going to have a zeppelin in it is called "Slidecage." Unfortunately, however, there will be no scene featuring the zeppelin because it was too expensive. It would have been done using footage from the movie Hindenberg, putting the name Chandler on the front of the zeppelin. The interior would have been the Chandler Hotel bar set with a big picture window showing clouds and blue sky going by.

  • JRD fans can see him in the upcoming animated feature fim "Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists". The film will also feature the voices of Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek).

  • Charlie O'Connell has his own web ring. If you have a page to add, goto: http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Olympus/1891/webring.html

  • Sabrina Lloyd now also has her own web ring. If you have a page to add, goto: http://www.home.ch/~spaw1562

  • The font called "Slither" is not the one used for Sliders. The right font is "vienna extended", and you can get it at imageclub online (www.imageclub.com) for about $39.95
