Megara (Meg to her friends if she had any) is a strong female character in Disney's Feature Film , Hercules. She doesn't have any furry friends to keep her company (unlike most previous disney heroines! Think about it!!)
When we meet Meg she is in league with Hades, the God of the Underworld. She sold her soul to him in exchange for the life of the a man. Unfortunately, her love ran away with another woman, leaving Meg not only at the mercy of Hades, but also without any trust for men. She is a cynical, sarcastic character with a sharp tongue.
When Meg meets up with the dashing Hercules (Herc), a self proclaimed hero, she is less than impressed by his physical strength. She treats him with the same contempt that she treats all men.
As the film progresses Meg falls in love with Herc but won't admit it to anyone including herself. (She sings the beautiful song "I Won't Say" with the Muses... see below for the lyrics)
Hades uses Meg to trap Herc into giving up his powers so that Hades evil minions can take over Olympus. Meg gives her life so that Herc can recover his strength and save his father, Zeus, and the Gods.
Meg's soul goes to the underworld....
And no I won't tell you if everything ends happily ever after (It might not you know....remember Pocahontas!!)because you must see this film!
