Dana Scully

Dana Scully first met Fox Mulder in 1992. After teaching for two years at the Quantico Academy, she was assigned to the X-Files section. Scully was to "de-bunk" (in her own words) the X-Files, and, specifically, any work of Fox Mulder's. Since that time, the two partners has grown to be one of friendship and complete trust. Scully's abduction by fugitive Duane Barry in October of 1994 was under unexplained circumstances. She appeared in North Georgetown's Intensive Care Unit a month later, in a deep coma. She had no memory of her disappearance at the time, but later had flashbacks of men in surgical wear doing tests on her, and of tubes and machinery hooked up to her body. Scully finds a tiny microchip imbedded in her neck, which had been there since her disappearence. When investigating a case for Mulder, Scully looks up a woman whose name was in a Japanese diplomat's papers. She discovers a group of women who have the same implant as she! Betsy Hagopian, the woman Scully is searching for, is dying of several tumors which will not respond to medical treatment; the group of women tell Scully that this will eventually happen to her: she will die of cancer, due to the effects of the implant. Scully is a skeptic, thus she is not overly alarmed with the story of Betsy Hagopian, though she admits to Mulder that it's freaky. She tries to view all possibilities through the lens of science. An intelligent and well-educated doctor of forensic medicine, she is recognized for being a good agent. However, in becoming friends with Mulder, she has gotten herself into her share of hot water. Her sister, Melissa Scully was murdered by Krycek, who mistook Melissa for Dana. Scully's father died of a massive coronary, but she keeps in close touch with her mother. Scully's work on the X-Files has been great; she brings a highly distinguised view of science into cases of the paranormal.
