ABSA was formed in 1992 to celebrate the incredible talent of Barbra Streisand. We held our first convention in the city of Melbourne, Victoria on October 3rd, 1992. Over one hundred fans gathered at our inaugural event to enjoy hours of fun sharing the magic of Barbra. The year 2009 heralds the 17th Anniversary of ABSA. Thank you for sharing the love of Barbra with us for the past seventeen years.
We aim to bring together Barbra Streisand enthusiasts and provide accurate information relating to Barbra's professional activities. We sometimes host special events in Melbourne that are fun, exciting and informative experiences for all involved. Membership to ABSA is free. As a member you shall receive notification of all forthcoming events & priority booking to special events (Barbra's Film Premieres, Album Listening Parties, ABSA Conventions, etc.)

ABSA is a non-profit association with funds raised donated to charitable organisations. ABSA has so far donated in excess of $12,000 to charity - $8,000 to the Victorian AIDS Council Support Program, $1,000 to the David Williams Fund supporting people living with HIV/AIDS, $1,800 to Positive Attitude, an organisation that provides nutritious meals and support for people in the community living with HIV/AIDS. We have donated funds to the AIDS Trust of Australia and gave a donation of almost $800 to the Mike Richards Memorial Treatments Fund. These efforts are consistent with Barbra Streisand's support of HIV/AIDS organisations worldwide. As Barbra commented in an exclusive audio greeting to her Australian fans regarding the fight against AIDS, "Everyone has the power to join the struggle and make a difference". The support of our members makes that difference.
