Cluster B

     Antisocial Personality Disorder
          *  has a pervasive pattern of irresponsible and antisocial behavior     which begins in childhood
       * in childhood, there is a pattern of lying, stealing, vandalism, fighting,
           truancy, and running away from home.  Fire starting and cruelty to 
           animals is a concern.
       * this childhood pattern continues into adulthood
       * has a poor work record, often fired, or quits for no apparent reason
       * does not conform to rules of social conduct or respect the law
       * irritable, aggressive, often fights
       * fails to honor financial obligations
       * does not plan ahead, is impulsive, moves often
       * has no regard for the truth
       * is reckless in terms of personal and other's safety
       * fails to be a responsible parent
       * usually has many short term relationships
       * has little remorse for behavior which has hurt others

     Borderline Personality Disorder
       *  has a pervasive pattern of unstable mood, and interpersonal relations
       * over-idealization and over devaluation of relationships
       * impulsiveness that is potentially self-damaging such as in areas of
              sex, bingeing, shoplifting, reckless driving
       * unstable moods shifting from depression to anxiety to irritability to 
              normal over the space of a few hours
       * intense anger which is inappropriate
       * recurrent suicide threats or gestures, self-mutilating behavior
       * feelings of emptiness or boredom
       * poor self-concept in terms of self-image, employment, goals, sex
       * frantic efforts to avoid being abandoned

     Histrionic Personality Disorder
       *  a pervasive pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking
       * constantly seeks or demands reassurance, approval, praise
       * inappropriately sexually seductive in appearance and behavior
       * overly concerned with physical attractiveness
       * needs to be the center of attention
       * emotional reaction is exaggerated
       * emotions are shallow and frequently shift
       * self-centered, poor frustration tolerance
       * speaks in flowery but superficial way

     Narcissistic Personality Disorder
       *  has a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, lack of empathy
       * reacts to criticism with feelings of rage, shame, humiliation
       * exploits others
       * has a grandiose sense of self-importance, expects to be noticed for
              special talents
       * preoccupied with fantasies of success, power
       * requires constant attention and admiration
       * lack of empathy
       * preoccupied with feelings of envy
