The Lefebvre/Lefavre/Bean Lineage

The family is correctly called Lefebvre, which translates to Smith in English.  A common alternate spelling is Lafavre.  They arrived in New France about 1672 and settled in Quebec.  When they came to the United States of America in the nineteenth century, the name was mistranslated to Bean.  There were 36 Lefebvres to arrive in New France between 1645 and 1760, so like Smith, it can be a difficult name to research.
Note: Most of the data on this page was NOT verified with original sources. It came from several books, websites, notes from my grandparents and recollections of family members.  If you are related to this family, notice errors or omissions, or just enjoy the information, please contact me.  As my time and this space is limited, so far I mostly only have my direct line, some links I am using are at the bottom and if you do not find what you are looking for, maybe they would help.  My own direct ancestors are written in burgandy.
