Editorial

Several items of interest awaited your correspondent this weekend !

First was an unexpected addition to the Oxford Tube fleet first spotted London bound on Friday night
approaching Beaconsfield. In dealer white the Volvo B10M with Plaxton Premiere 350 bodywork, the
only indication of a "Tube" coach was the lettering applied to the front window. However as can be seen
from the pictures below lettering is also applied to the entry door. It is a 49 seater with sunken offside
toilet. It is said to be helping maintain schedules during the roadworks on the A34 Oxford bypass .

New deliveries of M A N saloons have reached 933. Of great interest is that 932 and 933 have ORANGE
roofs and are to enter service on the Blackbird Leys route reviving the Blackbird Flyer branding. 931 is
the last of the blue roofed ones for the 7 group of routes.

132 has been withdrawn from service at Witney and is now a staff shuttle at Oxford.

Ex Selkent Darts are arriving to replace dual door Oxford Darts and DR627 now SCO 727 has arrived to join 729.
729 has entered service in red !

703 and 704 (Carousel Darts) have left in exchange to Selkent. Here they are expected to be PD 703 and 704.

808-12 R808-12YUD, Dart SLF/Alexander ALX200s are going to Cheltenham & Gloucester and not as
previously advised. 801-4,7 of the same type have gone to Stagecoach Devon. 806 has gone to Red & White.

A range of service changes are taking place at High Wycombe with Wycombe bus. This comes into effect
on the 8th November 1998. Full details can be found on the Wycombe Bus web page.

231 of Wycombe Bus has entered the paint shop at Oxford and should be ready to return to service
by Friday of next week.

The Gas Bus, 399, with Oxford Bus is now in service on 15 road though it alludes being photographed
in service at weekends and was not in service today the 8th.

Finally at least 516 has had full Brookes University vinyls applied and we include photos of this bus in
service en route to the Campus.
