Problems with the pictures ! -
sometimes it seems that the pictures do not load.
I have found a solution which does work normally -
RIGHT CLICK ON THE PICTURE AND THEN CLICK ON "SHOW PICTURE"
Good luck !
The changes continue and as new buses arrive, old ones go but such is life. Full details of the weeks event are given below under operators headings.
Our friends at Stagecoach have put full rear end adverts for The May Day Ball at Oxford on three Tubes. Cambridge Coach, now Jetlink are rostering green liveried coaches into Oxford on the 757 and 767, thus reintroducing the Green line image, well "of sorts"!
I haven't heard any comments regarding the pages at 800x600 resolution, instead of 1280, so presume most are happy. If you do have comments please send them to me.
Fleet News week ending 9/4/00
City of Oxford Motor Services.
The final Volvo B10BLE - 821 - has arrived, well during Saturday and will enter service this week. 820 entered service on Friday and by evening was back in the bodyshop with vandal damage !! I suppose this is modern bus operation but it must cause some dissatisfaction to Oxford Bus who are investing a great deal of money in providing Oxford with the latest in buses.
Most coaches now bear the new vinyls and Volvo 22 has now entered service. Still to arrive are 20 & 21. I am somewhat interested to obtain a photo of the old 21, now a training bus with the new 21 when she arrives.
The company has just invested nearly £40,000 in a new bus wash. some of you may have noticed that the fleet was looking grubby last week. Well, the reason was it took the week to install the new wash but now all the fleet should look very much more presentable.
Stagecoach Oxford.
Tube coaches nr 34, 35 and 36 now carry full rear adverts for The Oxford May Day Ball and look very smart and training buses 1010 and 3318 have not yet left Oxford and were still in the yard yesterday.
Wycombe Bus Company.
Hot of the press is the news that Olympians 237 and 238 are expected to be sold and have returned to Oxford for storage. Now that the final Volvo B10BLEs have arrived at Oxford we may expect further Volvo B10Bs from the 620-628 batch to move to Wycombe.
Today was as many know, the annual event of Cobham, the London Bus Museum. It was most interesting to see National 2s , 388,390 and 391 lying in a bus dealers yard close to the Museum and 387 and 392 providing runs on the service from Brooklands. I noticed 389 still at Oxford on Saturday but presume this may well join its fellows at Cobham.
I will be pleased
to receive your reports for this section

Ex Wycombe National IIs at Brooklands providing service at the annual Cobham event.
Replacement
for the Nationals at Wycombe, seen here operating the 326
service is Volvo 625.
This spent a number of years on the X3 to Abingdon as a
branded bus !
Replacement
in Oxford for the Volvos moving to Wycombe is the new batch
of Volvo B10BLEs.
Here we see 821 which had only just arrived from the
bodybuilders.
It is even devoid of registration plates !
The new bus has been installed and here we see 112 receiving
its first wash for
a week or so. The wash is most effective and all the
fleet should now look very good again.
This week saw
an interesting visitor to Oxford in the shape of the First
Bus artic.
It made a short visit to the city centre and from all
accounts performed very well.
It was not used in revenue service.
The new
advert on the Oxford Tube is this one for the Oxford May Day
Ball.
It looks most effective but does tend to make these
"coaches" even less coach like !
Oxford bound,
Cambridge Coach nr 301 leaves Wycombe
on a 767 late afternoon service on Friday 7th April 2000.
If anyone has any further news please email below.
It adds to the interest of the page which I'm sure everyone appreciates.
