Editorial

Stagecoach Oxford have now placed their Mercedes Vario 0-814's in service and 374 is seen below on layover in Oxford when working route 30. Another has been seen on route 20 and the Bicester Town service will receive an example in the next few weeks with suitable vinyl's.

We were lucky enough to find an ex Oxford Tube now operating with a Greenwich coaching company and en route to the Continent. It was photographed shortly before boarding one of the shuttle trains for a 35 minutes journey through the Channel Tunnel, a far cry from the M40 and its old work on the Oxford London service. PYV277 is seen below.

Oxford Bus works were host to Wycombe Olympians 235 and 238 plus Oxford 613. 509 is now in the paint shop with 631 receiving some minor attention.

Another opportunity presented itself to photograph some visiting coaches and one is shown loading near the Randolf Hotel.

This weekend the Friends of the Oxford Bus Museum have their first annual run. COMS 191, a low bridge MCW Orion bodied AEC Regent plus 956, a high bridge Park royal bodied AEC Regent will recreate route 75 between Oxford and High Wycombe on Sunday morning. After a tour of Cowley Road garage (Oxford Bus), a number of City routes will be traversed which will doubtless bring back memories for Friends and passers by alike. Watch out for a full report in these pages. The run is for members only !

Finally we have updated our "Front Page" with a new graphic which we hope you will like. Oxford Bus 11 and 401 join Stagecoach Oxford  12 and 825 in a "bursting with buses " montage !

We hope you continue to like this short section, which will give us the opportunity to comment on the local scene in an informal way. Please Email me, Malcolm Crowe, with any comments.
