Editorial

Another interesting weekend with new arrivals and unusual workings!

Another unexpected addition to the Oxford Tube fleet was on hand at Stagecoach's Horspath depot.
In dealer white the second Volvo B10M has Salvador Caetano bodywork and again the only
indication of a "Tube" coach was the lettering applied to the front window. It is a 49 seater with toilet.

A further delivery of a M A N saloon is 938 again in the "orange" livery. This week
we are able to bring you the first pictures of these latest M A N s almost ready for service.
All that remains to be applied is "Bertie Blackbird" on the front panel.

Volvo/Paladin 910 was seen on the 77A today, Sunday in place of the more normal decker.
one of the Dennis Lances 901-903 was again on the route 1 last week.

713 has now entered service on corporate livery. This is an ex London Dart.

I am advised by "Busman of Cambridge" that 819 and 820 have arrived with CAMBUS and are
expected to enter service as 339 and 340.
IN THESE TIMES OF CHANGE SUCH INFORMATION IS REALLY USEFUL
Please let me know of any other arrivals in your area.
(BUSWAYS, CAMBUS, DEVON etc etc)

A spate of unusual working with Oxford Bus has taken place during the past week.
Coach 59 was on the X70 last Thursday and 2 was on the same route on Saturday.
Dart SLFs have appeared on the 2A, 22 and 52 routes during the past week also.

231 of Wycombe Bus has re-entered service at Wycombe this week.
202 and 214 have returned to Oxford having been replaced at Wycombe by 220 and 222.
966 remains at Wycombe in company with M357, the London Metrobus.

The second Gas Bus, 398, has arrived and will be prepared for service during the coming week.
It is registered P10LPG, most appropriately and has Plaxton Paladin bodywork.
The two buses will remain with Oxford for 3 months.

In works at Oxford Bus were 208, 303 (from Wycombe for extensive bodywork attention) and 410.
510 is the latest Dart to go through works and it is now in the paint shop.

I am advised by Richard Sharman that Stagecoach Midland Red have replaced the tiger coaches
on the X50 with Volvo/Alexander PS types ex Bluebird. So far seen are 659 and 660, R659,660 LSO.
