The years 1971 to 1978 could be described as "the rise of the DMS" as they were used to replace crew double deckers and omo single deckers. 1979 was the beginning of the end as new Metrobuses, Titans and Nationals, as well as some SMSs, were used as replacements. The first DMS was in the scrapyard before the last RT had been taken out of service!
