This page attempts to cover vehicles which have operated in Oxford in years past during their service days here. Back in the days when the term Park&Ride was exclusive to Oxford,
Daimler Fleetline
A more recent Park&Ride vehicle, 999 (PWL 999W) was one of the
prototype Olympians and was used as a Leyland demonstrator in Singapore. On its return to
England it was acquired by COMS, who refurbished and certified it. 999 was a regular
performer on the Pear Tree-
Another electric bus experiment came to an end in 1998 with the announcement that the County Council could no longer afford to subsidise the City Circuit service 5. The service had been a joint venture with Southern Electric, and was initially operated by the Oxford Bus Company, but the contract was later given to Stagecoach Oxford for the last few months of operation.
