CLK 55 AMG Convertible: New sporty alternative from Mercedes-AMG
Stuttgart/Affalterbach – CLK 55 AMG Convertible provides
ultimate open-air motoring
Following the successful market launch of the CLK 55
AMG in August of this year, Mercedes-AMG now also offers the topless variant
of the coupe. The CLK 55 AMG Convertible, produced in a small series, again
utilizes the suspension and drive technology featured in the safety car
of this year‘s Formula One competition.
With the proven 5.5 liter powerplant (output 255 kW/347
hp) the topless four-seater sprints from zero to 100 kph in just 6.2 seconds.
The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 kph. The brake system,
transmission spacing, exhaust system and the combination of wheels and
tires are adopted from the CLK 55 AMG. The interior trim, except for the
AMG speedo with a range extending to 300 kph, matches that of the standard
CLK 430 flagship convertible.
