Apple Braid ... Oster bread machine cookbook Dough:
3/4 C. water
2 T. margarine, softened
1 C. bread flour
1 C. whole wheat flour
2 T. brown sugar, packed
1 t. salt
1-1/2 t. bread machine yeast
Filling:
1-1/2 C. chopped apples
1/3 C. brown sugar, packed
1 T. flour
2 T. raisins
2 T. margarine, softened
1/8 t. salt
1/8 t. nutmeg
1/8 t. cardamom
Place all dough ingredients in the bread pan in the order listed. Run
on whole wheat cycle and set for dough only. Cook all filling ingredients
over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until apples are tender; remove
from the heat. Roll dough into 13" x 8" rectangle on a lightly floured
surface; place on a cookie sheet. Spread apple filling over the center
third of rectangle. Make cuts from filling to the edge of the dough in
1" intervals on each 13" side of the rectangle. Fold strips at an angle
over the filling, alternating sides. Cover; let rise in a warm place 30-45
minutes or until doubles. Heat oven to 375*. Bake 30-35 minutes, covering
with aluminum foil during last 10 minutes to prevent excessive browning.
Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack. Drizzle with Vanilla
Bread Icing. The only alteration I make to the recipe is to add a little
cinnamon to the dough and the glaze. My kids beg me for this.
Apple Spice Bread ... This is great
with peanut butter, butter or to use as french toast with some powdered
sugar on top! 1-1/4 C. water
2 T. margarine or butter, softened (to make it fat free use applesauce)
3-1/4 C. bread flour
2 T. sugar
2 T. dry milk
1-1/2 t. salt
2 t. apple pie spice
2-1/2 t. regular active dry yeast or 2 t. bread machine yeast
Mix in: 1/2 C. dried apples, diced finely
Place all ingredients in bread pan, except for apples. Use sweet or
white bread cycle and light setting. Add apples at mix in beep or about
15 minutes after starting machine.
Blueberry Bread ... Have this in place
of those muffins loaded with fat grams. 1 pkg. Yeast
3 C Bread flour
1/2 t. Salt
2 T. Sugar
1 T. Butter or margarine
16-1/2 oz. Blueberries, canned, reserve
1/4 C. Reserved liquid
1/4 C. Water, approximately
In order listed, add all dry ingredients into pan. Put well drained
berries into a 2 cup measuring cup, add 1/4 cup juice and enough water
to equal 1-1/3 cups. Select white bread and light.
Bread Bowls ... This is great for entertaining.
Also for serving soups to guests! Refer to the French Bread recipe. Use the dough cycle. After the bread
has finished divide into 2 - 4 equal parts. The amount size of bowl will
determine the amount of parts. Allow to rise on a cookie sheet until double.
Bake at 350* until done. Allow to cool and cut off the top. Take the bread
out of the center. Do not discard that bread for it still tastes wonderful!
Use the bowls to hold soups, dips, vegetable sticks, etc. Great for party
atmosphere!!!
Bread Sticks ... Must for Italian dinners! Use the Old Fashioned Buttermilk Bread Made Easy
2 T. Italian Seasoning
Parmesan Cheese
Put all ingredients for bread recipe in bread machine and seasonings.
Use dough only cycle. When done, shape into 16 long sticks. Sprinkle with
Parmesan cheese. Let double in size and then bake at 350* until browned.
Cheddar Buttermilk Bread ... Great with
cold cuts 1-1/4 C. buttermilk
1 egg
3/4 C. (3 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
3 C. flour
1 T. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1 t. bread machine yeast
Add ingredients in pan in order listed. Use light setting, white bread.
Make 1-1/2 lb. loaf.
Dinner Rolls ... Oster bread machine cookbook 1 C. water
2 T. margarine
1 egg
3-1/4 C. bread flour
1/4 C. sugar
1 t. salt
3 t. bread machine yeast
margarine, melted
Place all ingredients, except the melted butter, in the bread pan in
the order listed. Us sweet dough cycle. Grease a cookie sheet. Divide dough
into 16 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Place 2" apart on a cookie sheet.
Brush with margarine. Cover; let rise 30-40 minutes or until doubled. Heat
oven to 375*. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown, Brush tops with
melted margarine. These are Angel soft!
EggNog Bread ... A Christmas must. 2 T. Sugar
1 pkg. Active dry yeast
2 1/2 C. All purpose flour
2 T. Butter
1 t. Salt
1/4 t. Nutmeg
3/4 C. Eggnog -- at room temperature
Take the chill off of EggNog in the microwave. Place ingredients.
in the bread machine according to your manufacturers' directions. This
makes a real moist, light large loaf.
French Bread ... This is great to use if
you have French Bread pans. Lechters sells them as do most kitchen stores!
This is for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf. 1 C + 2 T. water
2 t. butter, softened
3 1/4 C. bread flour
1 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. salt
2 3/4 t. active yeast
Place ingredients in pan. Use French setting. If I an making formed
loaves I use the dough cycle. This is considered a large loaf.
Garlic Bread 1 C. warm water (70° to 80°)
1 T. butter or margarine, softened
1 T. instant nonfat dry milk powder
1 T. sugar
1-1/2 t. salt
4-1/2 t. dried parsley flakes
2 t. garlic powder
3 C. bread flour
2 t. active dry yeast
In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available.
Bake according to bread machine directions (check the dough after 5 minutes
of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). Yield:
1 - 1 1/2 lb. loaf
Hawaiian Style Bread ... Great with Vanilla
Bread Icing 1 C. buttermilk

3 C. flour
1/3 C. whole wheat flour
1 T. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1 t. bread machine yeast
1/3 C. coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
1/2 C. coconut, toasted
1/2 C. chopped dried or candies pineapple
Makes 1-1/2 lb. loaf. Add all ingredients to loaf pan. Use a light
setting. Drizzle with Vanilla

Old Fashioned Buttermilk Bread Made
Easy ... Get out your bread machine and dazzle your friends. 1 C. +2 T. warm buttermilk (70* - 80*)
1 T. butter or margarine, softened
3 C. bread flour
4 t. sugar
1-1/4 t. salt
1/8 t. baking soda
1-1/2 t. bread machine yeast
Put ingredients in pan as listed. Use white/basic cycle and light/normal
crust setting. Do not use time delay with the buttermilk in this recipe!
Yields: 1 1-1/2 lb. loaf
Pepperoni Cheese Bread ... I got this

Pina Colada Bread ... Oster bread machine
cookbook 2/3 C. canned crushed pineapple in juice
1/2 C. water
3 T. rum
2 T. margarine, softened
3-1/4 C. bread flour
1/2 C. shredded coconut, toasted
2 T. sugar
1 t. salt
2-1/2 t. bread machine yeast
Place all ingredients in the pan in the order listed. Use sweet bread
and light cycles. Allow to cool completely. I serve this with pineapple
cream cheese.
Pizza
Dough ... I'll give you the dough, use your imagination to do the rest! 1 C. + 2 T. water
2 T. olive or vegetable oil
3 C. bread flour
1t. sugar
1 t. salt
2-1/2 t. regular dry active yeast or bread machine yeast
Set machine on white and dough cycle. When dough is finished, move
oven rack to lowest position. Heat oven to 400*. Grease 2 pizza pans or
cookie sheets. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into 12" circle with
floured fingers. Add "your stuff"! Bake 18-20 minutes or until crust is
light brown. This recipe is on that you can be creative with. Try adding
italian seasonings to the dough, or making the crust stuffed, or make a
fruit pizza with pie filling. Have fun!
Potato Chive Bread ... This is great with
cream cheese. 1/2 C. shredded, unpeeled potato
1 T. margarine or butter
1-1/2 C. milk
3-3/4 C. flour
3 T. snipped fresh chives
1 T. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1 t. bread machine yeast
Makes 1-1/2 lb. loaf. In a medium skillet cook potato in hot margarine
or butter until tender and brown. Add potatoes to bread pan then the remaining
ingredients. Use light setting, french bread/white bread.
Raised Doughnuts ... My favorite!!!!!!! 2/3 C. milk
1/4 C. water
1/4 C. (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, softened
1 egg
3 C. flour
1/4 C. sugar
1 t. salt
2-1/2 t. regular dry active yeast or bread machine yeast
Vegetable oil for frying
Place everything but vegetable oil in bread pan and use sweet or white
setting and dough cycle. Roll dough 3/8" thick on lightly floured board.
Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Cover and let rise on board 35-45 minutes
or until slightly raised. Heat 2-3" oil in deep fryer or heavy kettle to
375*. Fry 2-3 doughnuts at a time 2-3 minutes, turning as they rise to
the surface, or until golden brown. Remove from oil with a long fork or
slotted spoon. Drain on wire rack. While warm, roll in sugar, cinnamon
or powdered sugar. Makes about 20 doughnuts. You can also use a round cookie
cutter without a center hole and after they cool inject with pudding!
Sunflower Bread ... This is a great morning
toast. 3/4 C. Water
1-1/3 T. Vegetable oil
1-1/3 T. Honey
1/2 T. Salt
1/3 C. Oats
1/3 C. Whole wheat flour
1-1/3 C. Bread flour
1 t. Yeast
Add ins:
1/3 C. Sunflower seeds
2-1/2 T. Raisins
This is a recipe for a small bread. Fill the ingredients into
your bread pan. Add the sunflower seeds and the raisins at the beep.
Zucchini Wheat Bread ... As you can tell,
I like zucchini recipes. 1C. Zucchini, shredded
1C. Water
1/4 C. Vegetable oil
1/4 C. Honey
1-1/3 t. Salt
1-1/3 t. Grated orange peel
5 T. Wheat germ
2 C. Whole wheat flour
2 C. Bread flour
2 1/2 t. Yeast
Put in machine on wheat cycle and medium set.
