Buckeyes ... These are a Christmas necessity.
They make great homemade presents! 3 lb. powdered sugar
1 lb. margarine
2 lb. creamy peanut butter
2 pkgs. borden almond bark
For this recipe, use a very large bowl. Mix all ingredients
except for the almond bark. Shape into balls the size of quarters; chill
overnight. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Use a tooth pick to dip balls
into the chocolate; let tops uncooked so they will look like buckeyes.
This will make about 200. I normally have to double the recipe! Do not
make these if you are counting calories!!!

Syrup:
1C. sugar
1/2 C. water
Put peel from 8 oranges in cold water. Bring to boiling point and cook
slowly until very tender. Drain and cool in cold water. Remove membrane
and soft portion. Put the peel in a syrup made from 1 cup sugar and 1/2
cup water and cook gently until syrup is evaporated and peel looks clear.
Drain on wire cake cooler and dry thoroughly in air.
Peanut Butter Candy ... Easy & total
time about 30 minutes. 2 C. sugar
1/2 C. sweet milk
1 C. peanut butter
In a medium saucepan, stir milk and sugar until dissolved. Cook milk
and sugar for two minutes. Remove from the heat and add peanut butter.
Beat until creamy. Pour onto a lightly greased platter. Cut into 12 pieces.
