The girl behind the Animation

Hello! My name is Jennifer, on the web people know me as jasgrrl. I am a poet, traveler, optimist, philosopher and healer. I live in the beautiful city of Calgary, Canada. I really love this city and especially enjoy living so close to the Canadian Rocky Mts. . I live with my handsome husband, whom I am crazy in love with. One of our favourite things to do is TRAVEL! Together we have encompassed the globe. (though I admit he has traveled much more then I) Some of my favourite places that I have lived and worked are Alaska, Ireland, France, Greece and certainly Canada.

I grew up in Northern Ireland and my parents also loved to travel so I suppose my traveling spirit was deeply rooted in me at an earlier age. They used to trek me and my brother and sister all over Europe and North America, so at a young age I was exposed to some different people, cultures and ideas. These experiences have enhanced my intense love for philosophy, poetry and the arts. Me and my husband are currently planning a backpacking trip through China, sometime in the near future.
I have always considered myself an older soul, yet I am still very much a spiritual seeker. Although I will admit I am not very focused when it comes to any certain religion. I am an advocate for the "keep it simple" path. Thus I study more "Eastern" philosophy and religious traditions. I have been greatly influenced by many of the ideas in Taoism, Shintoism and Confucianism. Daoist subjects such as the healing arts, astronomy, alchemy, mysticism, divination and communicating with spirits are extremely fascinating to me. Each time I learn something new and exciting I contemplate a deeper more profound meaning in life. And the universe becomes a much more simple place, which helps an analytical thinker like myself. I also deeply believe in a higher consciousness (power) that I don't strive to put into words. Thus I call it the "tao" because the eternal tao can not be named. I believe in the power of consciousness and invisible pathways, a "unity" that connect us all together. Most of all I try to live life with vim, vigor and passion. Finding ways that I personally can make difference to create a better world.........well at least my little part of it any ways. well that gives you a little bit of a glimpse as to the person I am.
