Dimitri is a handsome and proud peasent.  Once a servant in the Romanov's Imperial Palace, he now works as a con-man on the Streets of St. Petersburg, selling stolen goods and forging papers.  Money may seem his main objective, but inside all he really wants is a someone and a somewhere to call his own. Dimitri may appear cold and arrogant on the outside, but inside he's all heart. Not as tough as he may seem, he may be slow to build a friendship with Anya, but along the journey to Paris he realizes that home and and family are more expensive than any amount of money can buy - only love can.
