Left for RAF Bentwaters in April 1961, I arrived at RAF Mildenhall after an 18 hour flight in a MATS C-118. I remember looking out the Snack Bar window and seeing the beautiful green English countryside. I spent 4 years and 14 days at RAF Bentwaters & RAF Woodbridge. While there, I married a wonderful Ipswich girl and our son was born at the RAF Bentwaters hospital (Rendlesham) exactly one year, to the day, after our marriage. I worked on RAF Bentwaters in Air Base Sq, Civil Engineer Sq, Fire Dept and Personal Affairs. I met many fine people while at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge. I must say that all was not roses, but overall it was very enjoyable. I finally left RAF Bentwaters in April 1965. My experiances at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge have made a big impact on my life...Jim Tansey, Jr.
