THE COMBAT UNIFORM:
It consists of the French army standard green uniform, but with some special fittings to give it a special status. The most famous is probably the "Képi Blanc" the white hat that, in the beginning, was a white cloth cover over a blue standard képi with a red top and a gold Legion emblem. Officers (and NCOs) wear a black képi with a red top and gold stripes accordingly to their rank.
Standard olivgreen "F1" (or a camouflage uniform), normally with a beret "Le Beret Vert" an appelgreen beret, even a cloth triangle or "Foulard" in the colour of the company is worn over the left shoulder. 2em R.E.P. arent allowed to wear the appelgreen beret after the rebellion the 1er R.E.P. made against France in 1962 when Algeria gained its independance (1er R.E.P. belived that they could win the war in Algeria, but France didnt) , then the 1er R.E.P. was disbanned and the parachuteregiment was stationed in Calvi, Corsika and wears a darker green beret.
