Caesar and Cleo's Catnip Award

Hey, all you cat lovers out there! We, Caesar and Cleo are pleased to announce an award of our very own. We have received so many wonderful awards and complements for our web site, that we thought it was about time we reciprocated and came up with an award of our own. It's called "Caesar and Cleo's Catnip Award" and we want to give it out to sites that we like just as much as catnip!

Here is a sample of Caesar and Cleo's Catnip Award:

Here are some guidelines that will be used in determining recipients of this award:

  • The site doesn't have to be about cats! However, we would like for the content to be Christian oriented, and family-friendly. On the other hand, cat sites are welcomed and encouraged. Just remember, though: If you would be uncomfortable having your grandmother read your page, then we may not be comfortable reading it either!
  • We have a dislike of frames. Frames will not automatically disqualify you; however, frames in which we have to scroll sideways to read are a definite no-no -- our paws don't do that very well!
  • We don't do it for every page on the site, but, we usually view the document source on one or more pages. If we see images that are linked to another site, and not uploaded on your site, that is a minus. You should ALWAYS save graphics to your hard drive and upload them to your web page .... it's just good netiquite! (if you don't know how to do this, there are lots of help pages on HTML available ... all it takes is a little time and a good search engine)
  • If you use borders, don't forget to table the page so that the writing is not spread all over the border. (Puh--leeze!) Sometimes, a few letters end up on the border anyway, and we can understand a few letters--but the text should not be almost all the way to the left of the page. If you don't know how to do this, view the source code on some of our pages or our mewmie's pages that have borders, and feel free to copy the code!
  • We also dislike Java scrolling in the status bar. We want to be able to see the addresses of links in the status bar and it is distracting. Not an automatic disqualification, but, definitely not a point in your favor.
  • We do not mind colored text, but, we would like to be able to read what is on the page. Sometimes increasing the font size is enough to make the page more reader friendly -- sometimes not! Be sure to temper your use of "busy" backgrounds. If we can't read it, how will we know if we like it?
  • Your pages must not be just links and animations.
  • If you are on GeoCities, make sure that you have the link to GeoCities on each page.
  • Pornographic and hate-inciting sites are automatically disqualified -- no questions asked, no appeals granted!
  • Spelling is important!! We don't disqualify a site for an obvious typo or two. However, lots of misspelled words on a page mars our enjoyment of that page.
SOOOOOO .... with all that in mind, feel free to apply for our Award. We are looking forward to viewing all the creative sites out there ... so bring 'em on!
