"The only way to see a rainbow is to look through the rain."
A tribute to my kitty love...
A true blue friend for so many years
Loved by all, big and small!
Measue was a precious, and very ornery kitten when she was adopted into our family in 1978. She loved to zip from one end of the couch to the other, playing the "you can't get me" game!
Whenever she heard the infamous "cookie" word, she came running, because that's what we called her kitty treats.
She loved to sleep cuddled up under the covers, with her head nestled up right against mine.
Here she is in 1979
When I went away to college in 1980, I was devastated to have to leave my buddy behind! My mom got me the little stuffed animal siamese in the picture to take with me, so that I wouldn't miss her as much. I still did!
Over the years, she remained the child in the household, when all the others had moved away.
Sooner or later, we all move back...
Many years later, when I returned home to live for a while, my kitty pal was right there waiting for me, as if I had never left. Once again, she spent nights residing in my bed, and was as playful as ever!
She spent many of her golden years
in her favorite spot.
Right next to the heater vent!
In 1996, she began to lose weight and couldn't hear very well anymore. She had lived a rich full life, but old age was starting to take its toll.
During a visit home, as she snuggled under the blankets with me, I cried myself to sleep. I knew that it was probably the last time we would share our special bond. A couple of weeks later, I received a tearful phone call from my mother. Our baby had crossed the bridge.I'll always be thankful for the love and companionship she so freely shared with me for all the years of her life. Now, whenever I feel a little guardian angel tapping on my shoulder, I think of my Measue and smile. I'm sure we'll have a great conversation when we meet again!
We're very touched that Measue has been presented wih these beautiful awards to honor her memory.
